WHR NCAA D1 Rankings Week 17

World Hockey Report NCAA D1 Rankings Week 17

#1 Cornell – swept Colgate

We called for a low scoring defensive battle and the Big Red delivered. Two 2-0 wins over Colgate could show the “defence wins championships” mentality.

#2 Minn State – defeated St Cloud

Zeb Knutson’s three point night led the Mavs to a 5-2 win over SCSU. It’s an impressive 18th win of the season for a very gritty team. Also liked Connor LaCouvee in net as SCSU outshot Minn St.

#3 Notre Dame – split with Wisconsin

A split weekend that ended in a massive 5-0 shit kicking doesn’t look good at all on the scoresheet. But I believe the Fighting Irish will rebound from this embarrassing loss.

#4 SCSU – lost to Minnesota State

St Cloud’s on their last strike. This team is absolutely electric when they want to be but not being able to win big games is hurting the Huskies. Huge test this coming weekend against Duluth.

#5 Northeastern – split with Massachusetts

After a tough road loss Friday night (3-0), the Huskies responded as good as anyone could dream with a 5-0 thrashing of Mass led by Blues pick and captain Nolan Stevens’s hattrick.
