World Hockey Report NCAA D1 Rankings Week 19

#1 Notre Dame – Win and tie vs Penn State

Two tough games, Cale Morris was tested again this weekend and the Fighting Irish started looking like more of a team. Watching ND play in Big10 play is almost a different team with how much more physical and intense they play.
#2 Minn State – Sweep Alaska Anchorage

Big offensive weekend for the Mavs. The scoring was spread out and came in bunches for Minn State as they won 7-1 Friday night and 4-3 Saturday. They we’re up 4-1 on Saturday but allowed a few late goals to make it interesting. Still a solid #2.

#3 Cornell – Beat Union, lost to RPI

RPI…… really? Powerplay goes 0/3, only muster 30 shots, score a goal late in the third. Not a great weekend for the nations #1 team.

#4 Denver – Sweep UMD

When Tanner Jaillet’s on be scared, UMD did control a fair amount of the play this weekend but the Pio’s found ways to bounce back. Henrik Borgström, Troy Terry and Dylan Gambrell all had impressive performances in the two wins.

#5 St Cloud – Sweep Omaha

Welcome back old friend. Don’t blow this chance to be back in the top 5. Two solid wins over and impressive UNO team, could the Huskies be finding their groove again?
