The Swift Current Broncos have survived yet another Game 7.
Can anyone stop the Broncos from Speedy Creek? They’ve dropped the Mem Cup hosts and the second ranked team in Canada in their first two series’ thanks to the stupid wild card format.
In Game 7 against Moose Jaw, Glenn Gawdin put his Mr. Clutch outfit on and buried two while adding a couple of helpers. The Flames fourth rounder now has 20 points through two rounds.
If you heard @AEhrmantraut a couple of weeks ago on the podcast when we talked about round two then this should be no surprise to you, but Moose Jaw’s goaltending was a heavy downfall as Brody Willms was outplayed by Edmonton Oilers draft pick Stuart Skinner.
Swift City now gets to face red-hot Brad Morrison (29 pts) and the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Those who follow the dub will remember these two teams swapped a few faces at the deadline including starting tenders so this series is bound to be another dandy.
