Continental Cup SuperFinals set

Shocking surprises filled the Third Round of the Continental Cup.

Medvescak Zagreb (CRO) and Ritten Sport (ITA) found out the hard way that allowing a combined 20 goals in three games wasn’t good enough to advance in Belfast.

Lyon (FRA) went winless in Group D and Kurbads (LAT) found a way to grind out a win, but managed to allow an average of four goals against per game.

Arlan Kokshetau (KAZ), Belfast Giants (GBR), GKS Katowice (POL) and HK Gomel (BLR) all have advanced to the SuperFinals (Jan.11-13). The location is still TBD.

Arlan was clearly the top team throughout the tournament, Belfast may have one of the best teams on roster, but the EIHL season grind will run them dry come SuperFinals time. Gomel is most likely the team to give Arlan a run for their money, even though the Kazaks defeated the Belrussians 3-0 in round robin play. Katowice has to be just happy to be there, advancing to the SuperFinals.
