That’s more like it by the US

Joel Farabee led the way with a natural hat trick to rout recently promoted Kazakhstan.

The final score being 8-2, and there were a whole lot of names on the score sheet. Jason Roberston had 4 assists in the game. Josh Norris, Tyler Madden, Ryan Poehling, Oliver Wahlstrom and Alexander Chmelevski all scored for the US as well, showing they can get scoring by committee.

This was the game we were more likely expecting from the Americans, the Slovaks brought a good shutdown style and great goaltending, there was no opportunity for that in this game. The Americans came out flying and knew what they had to do. The interesting part however is that Cayden Primeau had only 13 shots on goal and gave up 2 goals. Don’t be surprised to see Keyser back in net for the Americans next game and taking the starting role all together.

The Americans first real test will come on Saturday against Sweden, expect that to be an excellent game. The Americans will be in tough as the Swedes have not lost a round robin game since 2007.
