The quarterfinals are upon us and the games on the docket this evening are all good ones.
USA vs Czech Republic is no exception, both these teams had good round robins but the Czechs come into this game as the clear underdog. Last game the US played the Americans beat Finland pretty handily by 4-1. Watch for Ryan Poehling to have another great game as he currently leads the tournament with 8 points.
I don’t see the Czechs coming out of this one at all, their big guns have been quiet all tournament, most notably Detroit Redwings prospect Filip Zadina. A case of bad puck luck sure, but he should definitely be dominating. Jack Hughes returns to the lineup for the Americans, look for him to be another difference maker for the US as well. Cayden Primeau started for the US last game and Kyle Keyser has the only loss of the two netminders, I would expect to see Primeau in net tonight but things can change.
Look for a quick start from the Americans as they will want to get on the Czechs early and not let them get into the game. Jakub Skarek of the Czechs could be a difference maker in net if we see the Czechs in the game late.
